Fresh Fruits Exports Shine in India. Banana and Grape Spread Indian Taste Worldwide.

The global demand for fresh fruits and vegetables has been on the rise, and the data of fresh fruits and vegetable exports from India reflects this trend. In the year 2020-21, the export quantity and value of grapes, fresh bananas, potatoes, and other vegetables experienced significant growth. The next year, 2021-22, witnessed even more remarkable progress, with a substantial increase in export quantity and value across various fruits and vegetables categories.

One noteworthy example is the export of grapes, fresh. In 2020-21, the quantity exported was 246,107.37 MT with a value of Rs. 229,845.05 Lacs. This increased to 263,075.62 MT with a value of Rs. 230,216.40 Lacs in 2021-22. This demonstrates the strong demand for Indian grapes in the global market.

Bananas, another popular fruit, also showed impressive growth. The export quantity and value of fresh bananas in 2021-22 reached 376,572.37 MT and Rs. 117,877.34 Lacs, respectively, compared to 232,518.23 MT and Rs. 74,031.58 Lacs in 2020-21. This suggests a significant expansion in the export market for Indian bananas.
